Poker Night in America on CBS Sports Network
A new poker show made its debut in late June as Poker Night in
America had their first show on CBS Sports Network. The show is
set to run for 26 weeks, each Sunday night on the network. “We’re
making poker fun again – that’s our real goal,”
said Poker Night in America president and creator Todd Anderson.
“We think poker players and fans have been looking for something
new and fresh for a long time. We believe Poker Night in America
will soon become must-see television for all serious players and
Poker Night in America will cover poker tournaments at the Turning
Stone Casino in New York, Peppermill Casino in Nevada, Rivers Casino
in Pennsylvania, and the Maryland Live Casino. The shows will cover
the tourney action and also cash game action featuring poker pros
like Mike "the Mouth" Matusow, Matt Glantz, Shaun Deeb
and Gavin Smith. “Our tag-line says it all, 'bringing personality
back to poker,'” Anderson said.
Poker Night in America could get some traction as the CBS Sports
Network is available on most cable systems in the United States.
The question will be whether or not enough poker pros are featured
each week to give the show national appeal.
